Nidhi - BizTalk Consultant

Stability and development

‘During the first ten years of my career, I mainly worked on a contract basis and had the opportunity to get to know many organisations. Initially as a software engineer in India, Canada and the USA, later as a BizTalk specialist and .Net developer in the Netherlands. Three years ago, I was seconded to De Nederlandsche Bank, which was mutually experienced as a good match. By now, I had small children and was looking for a little more stability. At the same time, I also wanted to be able to grow within one company. DNB offered both.

Complex integration

Currently, I’m a permanent employee in the Data Services department. Within the Data Processing team, seven colleagues and I are responsible for the Integration part. We have insight into the entire reporting process of all Dutch banks, insurers and pension funds. This data must be secured and made available to users, both inside and outside DNB. Our integration team takes care of data processing, in a generic and predictable way, and its integration within our BizTalk server environment.

Everything we do BizTalk now will soon have to be done in Azure. A huge challenge.

Dutch approach

There is no real hierarchy at DNB. The culture is very open, you can easily make your voice heard and give feedback. We work in pleasant cooperation, both within our data teams and with other colleagues, such as supervisors. Everyone is driven to do things better and better. At DNB, it’s not all work, no play. There are proper sports facilities in the office, so I don’t have to go to the gym after work, and there are all kinds of networks that organise fun activities and get-togethers.

Encourage to learn

This is the first Dutch company I’ve worked for. Before DNB, I worked internationally. When I started at DNB, I was immediately offered the opportunity to take a Dutch course. And it didn't stop there. Here, they really encourage you if you want to learn or try something new, and everyone is willing to assist you in the process. I recently followed an Azure training, for example.

For now, we will continue to work on the transition to the cloud. I want to see this through to the end. I’m also interested in data science and would like to gain more experience in that field as well. I can discuss this openly with my manager, so that might be my next training. At DNB, you can grow as much as you like.’
